Experiment fail #1

I’ve never worked with aluminum before, apart from simple stuff like spice racks & birdhouses made in high school shop class. So there are bound to be some goofs & blunders along the way. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right?

I wanted to see if I could save the expense of buying a new tool, so tried using little Dremel cutoff disks on a cordless drill.

Guess what? Doesn’t work. The disk should spin at 30k-35k RPM, but the max RPM on the drill is only 600. Low RPM just makes the disk skip around on the cutting surface and simply shreds the disk.

    So I bought a Dremel. 😀
